10 things a man should never say to a woman

Dating can be hard, especially when you are getting know each other and trying hard not to offend one another.
For most women being sensitive towards others’ feelings comes naturally however the same can’t be said for men.
There are some things men should never say to their female partners. We’ve decided to share these things to help men avoid those ‘conversational land mines’.
1. "Are you really going to eat all that?"
Why would someone order a plate of food or dish up only to sit and stare at it? You cannot ask this without sounding like you are telling her that she is overweight and eats too much. Women already have enough issues about their weight and you adding your two cents worth won’t help the situation .
2. "B*tch"
Like Queen Latifah said: “Who you calling B*tch?!!” The literal mean of the word is a female dog, so unless you are into bestiality such a word should never be used to describe your female companion….or any other woman for that matter.
3. "My ex used to ... "
If your ex was so good why don’t you go back to her? The past should remain in the past; comparing your current partner to your ex is just asking for trouble. Ask your partner to try new things with you but never bring up your ex.
4. "You always do that"
Don’t keep a record of wrongs. When you have a problem deal with it then move on. Don’t keep reminding your partner of their past mistakes or bad habits.
5. "You sound just like your mother"
Most of the time telling your girlfriend/wife that she sounds like her mother means that you think she is an old nag and nobody wants to be told that. She is her own person and although she may share some values and beliefs with her mom, she has an independent identity.
6. "Yeah, she's hot"
So she asks you a question like: ‘Do you think Mary is hot?’….don’t fall for it, it’s a trap and answering "Yeah, she's hot" could mean nights on the couch for you. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
7. "What's up with your hair?"
We all have bad hair days and believe me a woman knows when her hair looks terrible; she doesn’t need a reminder from you. Give her a day or two to sort it out, if she doesn’t then you must find another way to broach the subject.
8. "Relax"
So she’s shouting at you about something you forgot to do again or just venting the day’s frustrations? Don’t tell her to relax or just chill. If you are the source of her anger try listening and saying something like: "I can see how you would feel that way."
9. "Is this your time of the month?"
Even if it is, you're not to mention it. Your role is to pretend that her menstrual cycle has no effect on her mood. Also avoid asking that question everytime she gets annoyed or emotional, not everything is tied to the menstrual cycle.
10. "I love you"
Yes, every woman wants to know that she is loved but saying those words just to get out of trouble is a No, No. One should only say I love you when they mean it, not to diffuse a situation or get the ‘cookie’.
Now that you have those tips, dealing with women will be a bit easier.

10 things a woman should never say to a man

When it comes to relationships women are not so perfect either. Foot in mouth disease can strike at any minute with serious repercussions.

So to avoid such occurrences, here are a few tips:
Never tell a man:

1. “Man up”
You are basically calling him a sissy and no man wants to hear that. He is the head of the household traditionally, so emasculating him with such words will not earn you any points.
2. “We need to talk”
Sirens go off and panic buttons get pressed when men hear these words. For them, ‘we need to talk’ means ‘you are in deep s**t. Just broach your issues in a normal conversation. It's easier that way.
3. “Anything about size”
If it didn’t matter to you, you wouldn’t bring up the subject. After all you know what they say: “It's not the size of the boat, but the motion of the ocean”
4. “Do I look fat in this?
Don’t ask this question unless you are ready for the brutally honest answer you will get. If you think you look fat in something, you probably do. So just choose another item of clothing instead of picking fights.
5. “Never mind. I’ll do it myself.”
So you ask him to do something and as usual he takes his sweet all time to get it done. Losing your temper is not the solution. Your man wants to feel needed. Ask him again and maybe add a little incentive to encourage him. Eg. “I’ll give you a back rub if you….”
6. “I can’t live without you”
Can you say ‘clingy’? A man wants a strong and independent woman by his side and saying such words in a new relationship will make a man run in the opposite direction.
7. “I’m not your mother”
Oh no you didn’t! Men love their mothers so saying anything bad about her will get you on his wrong side. So steer clear of the ‘m’ word.
8. “Nothing’s wrong”
Who are you trying to fool? Of course something is wrong, just tell him instead of playing mind games.
9. Your friend is so charming
Why are you looking at his friends like that? They are his friends and your relationship with them must just remain cordial.
10. I paid for it, it's my money
Yes, you earn more in the relationship and you buy most of the things in the house but why use that to make your man feel small? A relationship should be a partnership so discuss things with him even small purchases, don’t make him feel like a useless ‘rabak

The Importance of Allowing Yourself to Relax

Nowadays people had forgotten how to relax

The Importance of Allowing Yourself to Relax
Barton Goldsmith, Ph.D.

It’s after 10:00 a.m. and the kids are still sleeping, along with my other half, who, truth be told, would sleep until the next millennium if she could. But it’s all good. It’s Sunday. This is a traditional day of rest, and even those with Type A personalities need to chill at least one day a week.

Every culture on the planet has at least one day of rest and recuperation. Many use that time to recharge spiritually by going to religious services, while others sleep in, watch TV, and just give themselves the gift of a lazy day. And yes, there are those who feel that working up a sweat in the backyard is just what the doctor ordered, and upon occasion I have recommended that exact activity.

We need to give ourselves a break, and a little downtime works well for almost everybody. It doesn’t really matter what the activity or inactivity is. The idea is to give your body, mind, and heart a chance to relax and recharge. If you keep going at full speed every day, it can be really hard on you, both physically and mentally. We were not designed to go 24/7/365 (even though that’s become a popular modern-day mantra).

Some people find it hard to take a real vacation, let alone a day off (I wouldn’t know a thing about that, as I am writing this on a Sunday morning). If you are one of us, know that even though planned relaxation may seem a little counterintuitive, you have to learn how to do it on your own, or it could be forced upon you. I have seen many people work themselves into an early grave because they were too driven, and some too scared, to give themselves a break.

All right, so you’re not a kicked-back person and you’d rather do an Ironman race than stop and smell the roses (or plant some). That’s fine. As long as you are doing something that relaxes you. Active breaks from your routine will give you the same energy you need to continue taking on the world.

It doesn’t matter what form your idle time takes, as long as it’s not destructive. You owe yourself the gift of a deep breath and a view of the long sunset. And if you tell yourself that you’re being unproductive, remember that you can’t function well if you’ve exhausted all your resources by never stopping to take a rest. Again, it doesn’t matter when you do it. This is not about tradition. Pick whatever day and time works best for you, and make it a plan. By committing to take some time for yourself and for those you love, you are giving yourself and your family a gift.

Think about this and talk it over with your clan. The idea here is that by giving ourselves a break and just enjoying a day off, we can make our lives better and actually create greater good in our world than if we constantly are trying to get things done.

We all experience that scatterbrained feeling when we just can’t seem to think straight or make simple mistakes that usually don’t happen. Most of us have learned to live with that as a way of life but when it starts to negatively affect your memory, that’s when things become really problematic. From missing appointments, to forgetting to pack an essential item for a business meeting and more, poor memory can wreck havoc on anyone’s day.
That’s when you need to start thinking about doing something about the problem. Fortunately, there are a few simple things you can start with that can you you remember things much better. And none of them involve sticky notes!
Susan Hall from Health.com offers the latest on how to keep your noggin in tip-top shape. From including certain fruits in your diet to hitting the hay sooner and more, these are simple things you can start incorporating in your life today and reap major benefits. How do we know it works? Aside from the scientific studies and research backing these claims, we have taken these tips to heart and have been practicing them ourselves — and let’s just say, we haven’t “misplaced” our car keys or forgotten an important date recently!
So what are you waiting for? Check out these 5 easy tips below and never forget another moment.
1. Sleep more
Getting at least six hours of sleep every night will help retaining information much better, suggests a study in the Journal of Learning and Memory. Researchers think sleep improves memory by consolidating and organizing information in your brain so that it comes back correctly. So turn off the TV and get your Zzz’s on.
2. Look up some Italian recipes
Research suggests people who have a consistent Mediterranean diet have a 36% less likelihood of suffering from the damage linked with thinking impairment and memory loss associated with aging. So cook some fish and veggies, drizzle on some olive oil and enjoy a cup of wine for dinner tonight.
3. Munch on some blueberries
A study in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry looked into the antioxidant-rich fruit and found that the high supply of anthocyanins can encourage the neuron communication in the brain, which in turn can help prevent memory loss.
4. Play brain games
Numerous neuroscience studies confirm what your mom always told you: Exercising your word skills helps to keep it all together and prevents memory loss. Whether you’re playing online brain training games or reading a new book, just keep your mind working.
5. Just relax!
A study from the University of Rochester suggests a busy, anxiety-inducing lifestyle makes it nearly impossible for your brain to take in new information. In order to help you relax, try regular deep breathing for a while, or take a stroll in the park during your lunch break to help ease your mind.
