Blueberries are a super food, says Witt chef tutor Scott Powell.
"Because of the antioxidants and high levels of Vitamin C," he says. "It's just a great food for an energy boost."

Scott, who studied at Witt in the late 1990s to get his professional cookery diploma, has cooked overseas, offshore and around New Plymouth.
His greatest love is music and after spending a great deal of energy trying to make it as a musician, decided he needed something to fall back on.

He trained at Witt and then headed overseas.
"When I finished my course I was on a plane to LA and then the UK and I worked in Scotland for a year as a chef de partie."

Scott Powell gently tosses the summer salad before serving on a plate and topping with vinaigrette.
Now he's at Witt, where his job is as a chef support tutor. He helps in class and also sets up the class for teaching, organises the food and equipment that's needed.
For In Season, he has chosen foods that are fresh, colourful and nutritious.
The salad is created with torn spinach leaves, chopped spring onions, toasted almond slivers sliced strawberries, peaches, oranges, blueberries and quinoa.
