According to the legend, the wise men gave the baby Jesus three presents, myrrh, frankincense, and gold. Numerous people believe that the last refers to this amazing spice, due to its golden color.
Despite its mentioning in the Bible, it has been a common remedy in Ayurveda, and Chinese records show that it has been used for more than 2 millennia.

It’s only been in the past 30 years that America has started to catch on to the incredible medicinal potential of this ancient spice.
Nowadays, we live in a world which is full of toxins that harm our health and endanger our well-being. Only last year, 42, 000 new toxic components were introduced into the environment. These toxins are present in the air, water, foods, everyday products, cosmetics, cleaning products, and the like.
Numerous of these have detrimental effects on our health, disrupt the endocrine system, which releases hormones directly into the bloodstream. Additionally, many of these toxins damage primary body organs, like the heart, liver, and the kidneys.
The exposure to these dangerous substances seriously harms our health, but unfortunately, we cannot completely avoid their influence. Therefore, we should try and save our health and use various natural remedies which can help to prevent the adverse effect of chemicals, and protect our wellbeing.
Despite the numerous innovations and discoveries in the field of the modern medicine, we are becoming more and more sick and prone to diseases. Leading a healthy lifestyle and a balanced, healthy diet, can be of great help in preserving health. One of the most beneficial spices you need to use regularly is turmeric.
In the book Turmeric: The Ayurvedic Spice Of Life by David Frawley and Prashanti De Heger, they have listed numerous components of turmeric, and claim that it has been confirmed that this spice acts as a:
- cancer preventative
- Anti-inflammatory, etc.
The regular use of turmeric on a daily basis provides multiple health benefits, such as:
It supports Gut Health
The health of the gut is of high importance, as there are numerous boosting and mood-stabilizing hormones. Therefore, this will prevent mood swings, as well as various other symptoms.
It Soothes Inflammation
If you work a lot, you may become prone to inflammation. This spice will help you relieve it and avoid illness. Turmeric has potent anti-inflammatory qualities and it prevents many chronic illnesses.
Dr. Mercola says:
“Turmeric has been used as a powerful anti-inflammatory in Chinese and Indian medicine for millennia. Curcumin, the primary pharmacological agent in this spice, contains proven effects in this area that are comparable to over-the-counter anti-inflammatory agents as well as some prescription medications.
But curcumin doesn’t produce the toxic effect that synthetic drugs sometimes do, such as ulcer formation, internal bleeding, and even a lowered white blood cell count.”
It promotes Mental Health
This spice has beneficial neuro properties, and it causes clarity and mental focus. Experts have found that it may treat various ailments like depression, epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, tardive dyskinesia, and other neurodegenerative disorders.
